Earth Week Celebrations Events 2016

Earth Day LogoApril 22, 2016, will mark the 46th, anniversary of Earth Day. To promote environmental awareness and celebrate Earth Day, the Town of Halton Hills promotes “Earth Week” which includes activities for the entire family such as: Community Wide Clean-Up Day, The 22-Minute Makeover, Halton Hills Earth Day, and the Earth Day & Sustainability Fair

Halton Hills Earth Day Event

Saturday April 30, 2016, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
The 14th Annual Halton Hills Earth Day Event will take place at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre located at 11620 Trafalgar Road (Georgetown). Join us in celebrating Earth Day with the following activities:

  • Residents can purchase trees for a nominal cost of $5.00
  • (Limit of 4 trees per person up until 10:00 am)
  • Pick up free compost and wood chips
  • Drop off Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), and Electronic Waste
  • Various pieces of public works equipment and vehicles will be on display, along with interactive and fun activities for children with prizes
  • Delicious breakfast and barbecue lunch

Donations to the local food banks will be gratefully accepted.

Halton Hills Earth Day & Sustainability Fair 2016

Saturday April 30, 2016 10:00 am – 4:30 pm
An interactive family Earth Day & Sustainability Fair will take place at Georgetown Market Place located at 280 Guelph Street. Join us in celebrating Earth Day with the following activities: Mountsberg Birds of Prey; children’s activities and local organizations showcasing their work

Highlights include:

1:00 pm –   Mountsberg Birds of Prey;
All day   –   children’s activities;
All day   –   local organizations showcasing their work

Donations to local food banks will be gratefully accepted.
